Escargot
During my solo Quebec trip, I made a reservation for one at a nice restaurant on the busy Rue Sainte-Anne, near Chateau Frontenac. As someone who is comfortable with herself, I have eaten alone in busy cafeteria or coffee shops before. But there’s something about eating alone in a busy restaurant during peak hours that was still somehow daunting. I talked myself into it and I talked myself out of it. But the moment I sat down, I immediately felt liberated. To hell with social norms and expectation. To hell with what others may think. To hell with doubts. Here’s to French martini and escargot.
Yes, I find eating alone at a busy time daunting – in fact, have only done it once… Good for you, anyway.
Thanks Helen! It was one of the awkwardness of adulthood. Thank you for visiting my blog 🙂
